BOZEMAN, Mont. – Montana State closes out its regular season at 4 p.m. on Saturday as the Bobcats take part in Senior Day while hosting Northern Colorado in Worthington Arena. The Bobcats will recognize Amin Adamu, Xavier Bishop and Abdul Mohamed prior to the game.

The Bobcats claimed the Big Sky Conference regular season championship with victories this week against Southern Utah and Sacramento State. MSU sits solely in the top spot of the Big Sky standings with a 15-4 mark and will begin the conference tournament at 12 p.m. on Thursday facing the winner of the No. 8/No. 9 game.

Northern Colorado visits Bozeman looking to take possession of either the second or third seed at the Big Sky Tournament. A win for the Bears Saturday gives UNC the No. 2 slot, while a loss to the Bobcats will put the Bears as the third seed.

The Bobcats and Bears meet for the second time after opening their Big Sky schedules against one another on Dec. 2. The Bobcats and Bears played a heated contest in Greeley that featured MSU take a 74-72 with 17 seconds remaining. A Kor Jongkuch putback with less than two seconds on the clock sent the game to overtime. The Bears went 5 of 6 from the field while MSU went just 4-for-11 as the home came away with a 77-75 victory.

MSU is in the midst of a four-game stretch that spans every other day. The Bobcats fell at Montana, 80-74, but rebounded Tuesday to defeat Southern Utah. Xavier Bishop led MSU with 18 points, RaeQuan Battle chipped in 17, while Jubrile Belo had three blocks to help lead MSU to a 75-69 win over Sacramento State Thursday.

The Bobcats improved to 23-7 overall with the win over the Hornets. MSU's 23 victories are the most for the program in a single season during its Big Sky era. The 23 total wins are the most since MSU's first NCAA Tournament squad of 1950-51 that went 24-12 under Brick Breeden.

MSU's 14-4 league is one of its best all-time. By winning percentage, the Bobcats' best records were the 12-2 league ledgers they posted in the 2001-02 and 1986-87 seasons. Both of those teams were Big Sky regular season championship squads. MSU's 14 wins across its Big Sky slate are the most ever for the program.

Danny Sprinkle helped the Bobcats through a strong four-year run as a player and now he's doing it at a historical level guiding the program. Sprinkle is the first Bobcat coach to reach 50 victories before the end of his third season in over 84 years. His 52 wins within his third season are now the most by a Bobcat coach since Schubert Dyche won 66 contests in a span from 1928-31.

MSU enters its final home contest with a 12-1 record in Worthington Arena this season. The mark is the best for the program since the NCAA Tournament team of 1995-96 went 16-1 in its home confines. The Bobcats' only other one-loss seasons at home include the 1986-87 (15-1) and 1968-69 (11-1) squads during the Big Sky era.

Montana State has already claimed a spot in the Big Sky Quarterfinals having automatically earned a bye in the league tournament. The spot in the quarterfinals marks the fourth consecutive season the Bobcats have appeared among the top eight teams in the Big Sky postseason tournament. It marks the first time the program has achieved the feat since a span of the 1996-99 seasons.

Montana State's game versus Northern Colorado will be televised on SWX Montana and streamed on ESPN+.
