An inside look at Bobcat golfer Hailey Oster
In this "get to know" Q and A, we chat with Bobcat golfer Hailey Oster. Hailey completed wrist surgery at the end of February. Unable to battle on the greens, she still is a prominent leader for Bobcat golf and continues to push herself and the team during the spring season.

Favorite thing about golf - It is always a new day with golf. It has also always been a place for me to feel calm and distract myself from stress.
Favorite course you've ever played on - Bandon Dunes (Bandon, OR)
Why MSU? MSU provides good support, teammates, and coaches. I also love all the outdoors activities that Bozeman provides!

Did you play any other sports as a kid - Soccer, track, and cross country
At what point did you know golf was something you were good at and you wanted to pursue at the next level - Growing up, I had always golfed with my dad, and he was always my biggest supporter with the sport. After traveling and playing competitively for many years, I wanted to keep competing competitively in college.
Where have you seen the most growth in yourself since stepping foot at MSU - I have grown a lot more confident with myself and my golf game.
How has your injury changed your view and perception with golf? I have been fighting with this injury for the past two years. It has been challenging, but I have been mentally preparing myself. It has shown me how grateful I am for the sport and how important it has been to me. It is important to cherish every moment, the highs and the lows.
Do you have any goals for the spring 2022 season? Since I cannot play golf this spring due to surgery, I am focusing on getting stronger and healing, so I will be able to golf in the future!
