Montana State Travels to Arizona to Participate in Grand Canyon Invitational

The Montana State women's golf team continues the spring season with tournament play on Monday when the Bobcats participate in the 2022 Grand Canyon Invitational.
The Montana State women's golf team continues the spring season with tournament play on Monday when the Bobcats participate in the 2022 Grand Canyon Invitational. The 54-hole event, hosted by Grand Canyon University, is set to tee off at Grand Canyon golf course in Phoenix, Ariz.
The tournament will feature a total of 19 teams participating. MSU will be up against host Grand Canyon University, along with Big Sky foes University of Idaho, Portland State University, Eastern Washington University, Southern Utah University, and Northern Arizona University.
"We had the opportunity to play here last year, so half of our lineup will have experience while this is Cora and Jordan's first time." Montana State head coach Brittany Basye said. "We are looking to stay consistent and mentally stay in the game for 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. Now that we are back to playing score play, we need to go one shot at a time."
The women representing Montana State in this meet will be Kameryn Basye, Jordan Briggs, Cora Rosanova, Hannah Rosanova, and Lucita Prieto Romano.
The Bobcats are coming off the Mountain Match Play Classic, which kicked off the spring 2022 season. Seniors Hannah Rosanova and Kameryn Basye won two out of the three of their matches in Palm Desert and look to continue that momentum this weekend. Both Cora Rosanova and Jordan Briggs won their matches in the final round. Lucita Prieto Romano is making her spring 2022 debut. Excited to get back into action, all the girls are eager to hit the tee and continue an exciting spring season.
"We are excited to get back out in the warm weather and on the greens again," Brittany Basye said. "With the weather being so cold, I have had to cancel practice the last couple of days, so being out on a course is something I very much look forward to."
Monday invitational begins at 8 a.m. The final day of action is expected to start at 7 a.m. on Tuesday. Results for the invitational will be available on Golfstat.com with links found on the team's schedule page on msubobcats.com.
