Jubrile Belo recorded two double-doubles last weekend en route to earning Big Sky weekly honors
FARMINGTON, Utah – Montana State sophomore Jubrile Belo recorded two double-doubles to close out the regular season at home and was recognized for his efforts on Monday, March 9, by the Big Sky Conference as the Ready Nutrition Player of the Week.
Belo paced the Bobcats in both of their contests in Worthington Arena this past week. He scored a career-high 25 points in MSU's 73-65 victory over Southern Utah on March 5. He went 13 of 16 from the free throw line, both highs during his collegiate career, while converting on 6-for-11 field goals. He had two blocks and 11 rebounds in the contest.
The London, England, native continued his strong play on March 7 despite a defeat to Northern Colorado. Belo shot 10-for-19 from the field for 24 points and snagged 12 rebounds. He added four blocks and had two steals against the Bears.
The weekly honor was Belo's first as a Bobcat while Harald Frey previously earned the award this season on Nov. 19.
Montana State travels to Boise, Idaho, to participate in the Big Sky Conference Championships presented by My Place Hotels. The Bobcats are slated to face Portland State in the Big Sky quarterfinals at approximately 2 p.m. Thursday, March 12, in CenturyLink Arena.
