BOZEMAN, Mont. – Montana State's cross country teams are slated to participate in their final meet of the fall on Friday when the Bobcats take part in the Weber State Cross Country Invitational.

The meet begins at 3 p.m. at Round Valley Golf Course in Morgan, Utah, with the 5-kilometer women's race. MSU's women's team will compete against individuals running unattached from various programs. The Bobcat men's team will run in the 8K race that starts at approximately 3:45 p.m. The men's competition field features team appearances by Weber State and BYU, as well as unattached entries.

The small but challenging men's field is highlighted by BYU which is ranked second in the USTFCCCA National Coaches' Poll. Weber State is the fifth ranked team outside of the USTFCCCA's top 30 that's receiving votes.

"The Weber State Invitational should be a really good meet with some great teams," said Lyle Weese, Montana State's Director of Cross Country. "Weber State was really strong last year on the men's side – they were one of the first teams outside the national championship meet. The women's team is always strong. The BYU men were the national champions last year, so we'll have a chance to go up against some great competition."

Montana State opened its 2020-21 cross country schedule by appearing at the Idaho vs. Montana State Clash on Oct. 29 in Lewiston, Idaho. The Bobcat men and women, which were ranked third and fifth in the Big Sky Preseason Coaches' Poll, swept the Vandals in the dual competition. Weber State's men were picked second and the women were voted to finish third in the Big Sky Preseason Poll.
