BOZEMAN, Mont. – Montana State seniors Alex Hellenberg and Caleb Neth were the Bobcat track and field program's top finishers on Tuesday, Jan. 7, at MSU's annual Multis Meet in Worthington Arena.
Hellenberg totaled a personal-best 3,105 points in the women's pentathlon. She earned lifetime best marks in the 60-meter hurdles (9.61 seconds), high jump (4 feet, 11.5 inches), shot put (29-06) and 800 (2:38.16). She also recorded a mark of 17-02.75 (5.25m) in the long jump.
Neth recorded the men's team's top point total with 4,799 points in the heptathlon. He finished with the fastest time in the field in the 60 hurdles (8.89) and the second-best mark in the long jump of 21-11 (6.68m). Freshman Lucas Jepsen also competed in all seven events. He ended the heptathlon with the fastest time in the 1,000 of 2:48.22 and scored 3,996 points.
Bobcat track and field makes its team debut on Friday, Jan. 17, when MSU participated in the Stacy Dragila Invitational hosted by Idaho State.
