2019-20 Season
Indoor (Freshman): Participated at the Big Sky Conference Championships … Finished 16th in the 400 (49.92) behind a personal best and 19th in the long jump (19-08) … Competed in a total of seven meets … Set collegiate bests in the long jump (20-11.25) and triple jump (44-04) at the MSU Dual Meet Invitational on Jan. 24 … Took first in the triple jump at the MSU Indoor Open on Feb. 7 … Also completed the MSU Multis Meet from Jan. 6-7 and scored 3,996 points … Named to the Big Sky Winter and Spring All-Academic Teams.
Background: Graduated from Albuquerque Academy in 2019 … Was a three-time state champion in the triple jump … Best triple jump of prep career came when he won his first NMAA 5A State Championship with a mark of 46-02 … Earned gold in the long jump as a junior and bronze as a senior at the state meet … Lifetime best in the event was 23-01.75 … Added another podium appearance as a senior for the Chargers by finishing runner-up in the 400 with a time of 49.61 seconds at the 5A Championships … Also took fourth in the 200 and claimed silver on the Chargers’ 4x400 relay at the meet … Had a combined 23 first-place finishes during his final two high school seasons … Made his first appearance at the state meet as a sophomore competing in both the triple jump and long jump … Received five letters in track and field and three in soccer … A two-time member of Albuquerque Academy state championship soccer teams … Earned all-district accolades twice and was district player of the year as a senior … Received Letters of Commendation in chemistry and history and worked as a student intern for Sandia National Labs … Plans to pursue a major in mechanical engineering.
