Clare Dittemore Fires a 71 to Lead MSU on Day Two of Big Sky Golf Championship

Bobcat junior Clare Dittemore ties her best round of the season to help carry the Bobcats through the second round of the conference tournament Saturday
BOULDER CITY, Nev. – Montana State improved by 14 strokes during its second round of play on Saturday, April 21, as the Bobcats head into their final set of 18 holes at the Big Sky Golf Championship at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
The Bobcat women's golf team shot a 301 on Saturday and sit in eighth place with a total of 616 strokes through 18 holes. MSU goes into the third round of play Sunday one stroke behind Montana for seventh place and four strokes behind Southern Utah which is in sixth.
Junior Clare Dittemore tied her top 18-hole score of the 2017-18 season by carding a 1-under-par 71 to carry the Bobcats during the second round of action. Dittemore shot even-par on the front nine then recorded three birdies on the back nine, serving as one of 13 Big Sky golfers to complete an under-par second round.
Dittemore joined sophomore Kelly Hooper in a tie for 22nd by totaling a 153 through two days. Hooper shot an 81 during the second round of play after her 72 on Friday.
Sophomore Delaney Elliott and senior Jaylee Tait each fired a 4-over 76. Elliott is tied for 28th with 154 strokes and Tait is tied for 42nd with her 160. Sophomore Lilly Navarre contributed to the Bobcat scoring lineup with a 6-over 78 and is 47th overall at 161.
Idaho leads the team standings with 583 strokes over two days, while the Vandals are followed by Sacramento State (588) and Portland State (590). Sophie Hausmann of Idaho is atop the individual ranks at 6-under 138 and is ahead of three golfers that are tied for second at 2-under 142.
The Bobcats will tee off in the second group on the final day of the Big Sky Golf Championship. MSU competes alongside Montana and Northern Colorado starting at approximately 8:45 a.m. MDT on Sunday.
