Tait Leads Bobcats to Fifth-Place Finish in Battle at Boulder Creek

Montana State senior Jaylee Tait tied for fifth individually and the Bobcats placed fifth in the team standings to wrap up play at the Battle at Boulder Creek on Tuesday
BOULDER CITY, Nev. – Montana State senior Jaylee Tait tied for fifth individually and the Bobcats placed fifth in the team standings to wrap up play at the Battle at Boulder Creek on Tuesday, March 6, at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
Tait led the way for the Bobcats by firing a 5-over-par 77 during the final round. Her 231 over the course of two days put her six strokes off the individual winner Jacquelyn Eleey (225) of Georgetown. It's Tait's best overall finish of the season and her second showing that placed her among the top 10 in five tournaments.
Kelly Hooper earned her fourth top-20 showing of the season by finishing in a tie for 14th. She completed her final set of 18 holes by carding an 80, while totaling 237 strokes over three rounds. Delaney Elliott also scored an 80 on Tuesday and tied for 31st by notching a 245.
Rounding out MSU's lineup were Lilly Navarre (249) in 39th overall and Coral Schulz (255) who tied for 47th. Clare Dittemore, who competed as an individual, finished play with a 259.
Montana State shot a 956 (327-310-319) as a team and ended the meet three strokes behind James Madison (953) in the team standings. The Bobcats finished ahead of seven other teams in the event field, while Georgetown won the team crown with a three-round total of 916.
The Bobcats return to action on March 27 when they appear at a co-hosted invitational held by Eastern Washington and Portland State in Chandler, Ariz.
