Bobcats to face large, competitive field in fourth team tournament of the season
BOZEMAN, Mont. --- Montana State women's golf is set to conclude the fall portion of its season on Monday and Tuesday, travelling to Broken Arrow, Okla., to compete at the Route 66 Invitational.
The Tulsa-hosted tournament will take place at Golf Club of Oklahoma, which plays as a par-72, 6,337-yard course. Both days of competition will begin in a 7:30 a.m. MT shotgun start, with rounds one and two to take place on Monday and round three to follow on Tuesday.
"We're excited to return to Tulsa's tournament and compete on a new course at a great venue against a strong field," Montana State head coach Brittany Basye said. "We've had a great couple of weeks of practice. With the snow this past week, we've been inside our golf facility getting quality reps and working on our short game. We're ready to get back on the grass, see our ball flight, and compete.
"Our lineup will be Ashleigh, Eva, Norah, Lauren and Ellie, who will step into the fifth spot with Sailor out for medical reasons. This is another opportunity to test ourselves against some very good teams and finish our fall season strong. Our focus is to control what we can and be competitive."
Montana State will compete as part of a 16-team field in Broken Arrow. The field will be headlined by Texas A&M, who checked in at No. 16 nationally in the most recent Scoreboard rankings. The Bobcats will also face fellow Southeastern Conference competitor Georgia; Big 10 foes Iowa, Rutgers, and Wisconsin; and a slew of programs from around the country, including Cal Poly, Coastal Carolina, Colorado State, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia Southern, Gonzaga, North Florida, Oral Roberts, Seattle U, and Tulsa.
Montana State will compete as a team for the first time since Sept. 28-29, when the Bobcats travelled to Pleasant Valley, Iowa, for the Diane Thomason Invitational. The Bobcats finished seventh at the tournament with a 54-hole score of 918, with Norah Seidl leading the Cats in a tie for 15th place (226).
A pair of Bobcats individually competed at the Big O Classic last week to gain experience heading into the final stretch of the fall season. Elvira Flodström tied for fifth place to lead the Cats with a 231, while Nadia Sanz Ouezzani tied for seventh with a 233.
Flodström will enter the Bobcats' lineup for the first time in Oklahoma this week, competing in the fifth slot alongside Ashleigh Wilson, Eva Heinz, Seidl, and Lauren Nau in the one through four spots in the lineup.
Montana State returns to the Route 66 Invitational for the second-straight season. The Bobcats finished 14th last year against a competitive field featuring seven Power Four programs, posting a team score of 904. Lauren Greeny led the Cats with a 225 to tie for 42nd place, while Sailor Graham finished one stroke behind (226) in a tie for 48th place. Heinz and Seidl are both set to make their return to the tournament after competing in Broken Arrow last season. All five Cats will compete on the Golf Club of Oklahoma course for the first time in 2026, with 2025's tournament taking place at Cedar Ridge Country Club.
Montana State is paired with Colorado State, Oral Roberts, and golfers from Texas A&M and Florida Gulf Coast on Monday and will tee off from holes 14 through 18 in a 7:30 a.m. MT shotgun start. Live scoring will be available at scoreboard.clippd.com.
