Mavericks use strong start, hot shooting to beat Montana State
Omaha used a quick start and hot shooting to beat Montana 89-65 in Baxter Arena on Saturday.
The Mavericks shot57.9% from the floor, including better than 57% in each half, building a double-digit lead in the first half and never letting it go. Zach Jackson scored 33 points to lead all players, while Ayo Akinwole added 20 and Wanjang Tut 12 for the home-standing Mavs. Tyler Hall scored 20, Harald Frey 16 and Sam Neumann 10 for the Bobcats.
Montana State falls to 1-6 on the season, while Omaha is 3-3. The Bobcats host North Dakota on Tuesday at 7 pm in Worthington Arena.
