Bobcats Picked Seventh in Big Sky Conference Preseason Golf Coaches' Poll

The Big Sky Conference announced its coaches' preseason poll on Tuesday, Jan. 30, and Montana State was selected to finish seventh in a ballot of the league's head coaches.
OGDEN, Utah. – The Big Sky Conference announced its coaches' preseason poll on Tuesday, Jan. 30, and Montana State was selected to finish seventh in a ballot of the league's head coaches.
Sacramento State (119) picked up 10 first-place votes and was the Big Sky's best team coming out of fall play according to Golfstat. The Hornets won the team playoff at the conference championships last year to earn their first title since 2007.
Idaho (109) received a pair of first-place votes and was predicted to finish second. Selected to finish ahead of Montana State was Portland State (105), Northern Arizona (90), Northern Colorado (78) and Eastern Washington (67).
The Bobcats completed their 2017 fall schedule with a 303.22 scoring average. Six Bobcats competed for MSU in three events, with the team closing out its fall schedule with a fall best and three-round score of 898. That 54-hole round mark was the fourth best in program history.
MSU begins its spring schedule at the Battle at the Rock, hosted by UC Riverside, on Feb. 12. The Bobcats are scheduled to participate in six meets ahead of the Big Sky Women's Golf Championships in Boulder City, Nev., from April 20-22.
