MSU Golfers Make Strong Showings at Amateur State Championships

Multiple Montana State golfers have competed over the last three days in tournament play at their respective state meets and have produced solid results.
Rising sophomores Delaney Elliott and Kelly Hooper both competed in the Championship Flight, the top flight of five, at the Colorado Women's Golf Association Stroke Play Championship at Lone Tree Golf Club in Lone Tree. The two finished the third and final round Wednesday with a total score of 11-over-par (227) and tied for fifth place.
Elliott was among the leaders early in the tournament with back-to-back rounds of 74 before wrapping up play with a third-round 79. She notched two birdies during her first 18 holes and put together a 1-under back nine in the first round.
Hooper was consistent throughout the meet putting together consecutive rounds of 76-75-76. She completed two sides of the scorecard under par, including a 2-under 34 on the back nine in the final round of play behind two birdies and seven pars.
Rising junior Clare Dittemore is also in the midst of tournament action as she competes in the 108th Oregon Women's Amateur Championship.
Dittemore completed stroke play today at the Oregon Golf Club, just outside of Portland, at 10-over (161). She sits in a tie for ninth after two rounds with her best score of 79 carded after the first 18 holes. She moves into the 31-competitor match play bracket with the final taking place on Sunday.
