LONG BEACH, Calif. – Several Bobcats achieved personal-best marks to conclude Montana State track and field's four-day swing in California Saturday, April 15, at Jack Rose Track in the Beach Invitational.
Freshman McKenna Ramsay notched two lifetime bests on the women's side. Ramsay finished 13th overall in the 400-meter run with a time of 55.19 seconds. That mark tied her top collegiate mark during the indoor season and put her eighth in program history on the MSU all-time outdoor list. She also crossed the line in the 200 in 24.98 to place 31st out of 106 runners.
Junior Amanda Jaynes had the Bobcats' top showing of the day by taking third in the 400 hurdles with a time of 59.65. That mark topped her previous personal best by .15 seconds.
Alex Lewis had MSU's top performance for the men's team's Saturday appearance at the Beach Invitational.
The junior toppled his previous lifetime best in the long jump by leaping 24-01.75 (7.36m) for ninth overall. The mark shot him up the program all-time chart to third in the event.
Freshman Cameron Carroll earned a 19th-place finish in the men's 800 with the top time of his collegiate career (1:52.06). His time was just two one-hundredths of a second behind fellow Bobcat Samuel Bloom's mark that the sophomore set just a day ago, but still moved him to ninth in school history in the 800.
Bloom also raced in the men's 800 and finished 48th overall with a time of 1:53.87.
Senior Christie Schiel returned to competition a day after setting a school record in the 800 and finished 12th in the event with a time of 2:08.63.

Douglass finished seventh in the Discus Elite Invitational at the relays with a throw of 183-07 (55.82). Alec Nehring wrapped up meet action at the Beach Invite by taking 35th in the shot put, while Calvin Root took 43rd and 45th in the shot put and discus, respectively.
