Bobcat Women Face Omaha in Late Friday Morning Tilt

The Montana State women’s basketball team traveled to Nebraska on Thursday afternoon. The Cats will face Omaha Friday, Nov. 17, beginning at 11 a.m. (MT).

ON A SERIES NOTE: Friday's meeting at Omaha will be the first-ever encounter between the two schools.
HOME-OPENERS: With its victory over Providence within the friendly confines of Worthington Arena on Wednesday night, Montana State is 30-12 all-time in its home openers. Under the leadership of current head coach Tricia Binford, the Bobcats are 8-5 overall in home openers.
NO PLACE LIKE HOME: The Bobcats finished its 2016-17 home season with a perfect 13-0 mark. Its current 26-game home winning streak is third longest at the NCAA Division I level, behind UConn 64, UCLA 29. The 26-game home win streak is a Montana State school-record.
THE NITTY GRITTY: The Bobcats finished the 2016-17 season ranked No. 59 in the NCAA's final Nitty Gritty listings. It was the highest a MSU team has ever been ranked. The next closest Big Sky team was Northern Colorado at No. 128. USC finished the 2016-17 season ranked No. 59, while Long Beach State was No. 102.
MONTANA STATE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Senior Hannah Caudill is MSU's Player of the Week for her 24-point effort in the Cats' win at Long Beach State. The 5-7 product of Spokane, Wash., finished the game connecting on six-of-11 from the field, which included a six-of-nine performance from long distance. Caudill also had five rebounds and two assists against the 49ers. At USC to open the season, Caudill recorded eight points and two assists.
WINDEX MOMENTS: Sophomore Madeline Smith was a workhorse under the glass for the Bobcats against Providence on Wednesday night. The 6-2 forward from Snohomish, Wash., pulled down a career-high 19 rebounds. She had 11 boards against the Argos in the first half of action. Her 19 rebounds were just two shy of matching the all-time Montana State record of 21 rebounds held by former Bobcat standout, MSU Hall of Famer and WNBA player Cass Bauer. Bauer set the mark of 21 rebounds against Rhode Island on Jan. 7, 1994.
