Bobcats Open Exhibition Season with Orediggers

“We have a lot of new faces, so establishing rotations will be a focus,” said MSU head coach Tricia Binford, who is entering her 13th season at the helm of the Bobcat program. “We also need to clean-up our turnovers from the scrimmage on Friday.”
The Montana State women's basketball season officially begins Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. when it hosts Montana Tech in exhibition action in Worthington Arena. The two-time defending Big Sky Conference champions will play two exhibition games before opening the regular-season at USC on Nov. 10 in Los Angeles.

Montana Tech is 1-0 on the season after defeating Yellowstone Christian on Oct. 23. The Orediggers were paced by Kaylynn Coverdell with 15 points and seven rebounds.
"Montana Tech does a nice job pushing the ball up the court," Binford said. "We need to pay attention to our transition defense, as well as see what our rebounding identity is going to be. We'll be charting offensive and defensive rebounding percentages. It'll be interesting to see who is going to step-up to the challenge under the boards."
Binford welcomes back seven letterwinners, including three starters (Hannah Caudill, Delany Junkermier, Blaire Braxton) that helped the Bobcats to a 25-7 overall record, a Big Sky Conference title and a trip to the NCAA First-Round, last winter. In addition, seven newcomers will dot the MSU roster, including Seton Hall transfers Claire Lundberg and Martha Kuderer, who will sit out the 2017-18 campaign due to NCAA transfer rules, and five freshmen.
