Montana State takes the floor for the first time in 2017-18

Plenty of familiar faces and some significant new ones will take the Worthington Arena floor on Wednesday when Montana State hosts MSU Northern in a men's exhibition game at 8 pm in Bozeman.

Led by college basketball's top returning three-point duo of Tyler Hall and Harald Frey, who combined for 190 last year, the Cats host MSU Northern. The Lights opened their season with a 95-80 win over Mount Royal on October 21. Wednesday's exhibition is part of a men's-women's doubleheader in the Fieldhouse. The Bobcat women's team hosts Montana Tech at 6 pm.

Hall and Frey lead an experienced cast for the Cats. Fourth-year starter Zach Green returns at one forward spot, and center Sam Neumann returns after leading the Bobcats in rebounding a season ago. Wednesday's game marks the MSU debuts of transfers Konner Frey and Keljin Blevins. Each sat out last season to satisfy NCAA transfer requirements.

Wednesday marks MSU's only public exhibition game. The Cats open the 2017-18 season on Friday, November 10, hosting Omaha in Great Falls. Tipoff is 6 pm at Four Seasons Arena.
