Bobcats in Fifth After Two Rounds at Cougar Cup in Pullman

Jaylee Tait, Janelle Reali lead the way for MSU
Montana State's strong start was partially undone by late struggles Monday at the Cougar Cup in Pullman, Washington.
All five Bobcats posted scores in the 70s in each round and the Bobcats stand in fifth place after from the 36 holes. Jaylee Tait's 71-76/147 is good for 10th place, while Janelle Reali shot 75-73/148 for an 11th place tie. "We put ourselves in a great position with a good first round and through 27 holes really had it going," said MSU coach Brittany Basye. "Then the wheels came off."
MSU scored two 71s and two 75s in the first round, but that dropped to 73-75-76-77 in the second, leaving the Cats in fifth place out of 10 teams. Kelly Hooper shot 71-79/150 and Clare Dittemore 75-75/150 for an 18th place tie, while Coral Schulz's 78-77/155 leaves her in 40th.
"I am very proud of our first 27 holes," Basye said. "This team has a lot of talent and they are proving it by good position from the get-go. They just need to finish. Staying committed and staying positive is the key."
The tournament finishes Tuesday morning.
