Danielle Rider Leads Heptathlon After Day One of Big Sky Championships

Jessica Chrisp, Mason Storm also in contention
Danielle Rider stands in first place and two other Bobcats showed well in the multi-event competition at Day One of the 2016 Big Sky Track and Field Championships in Greeley, Colorado.
Rider scored 3,244 points in the first four events of the heptathlon. Teammate Jessica Chrisp is fourth with 3,076 points. In the decathlon, Mason Storm is third with 3,479 points, Dalen Hargett fifth with 3,378, and Trevor Simanski 11th with 3,224. Idaho's Drew Thompson leads the event with 3,553 points.
"This was a good start to the meet for us," said Bobcat coach Dale Kennedy. "Danielle had a very good first day and she, Jessica and Mason are in good position to get the meet off to a good start for the Bobcats."
