Greear Places 26th, Leads 'Cats in Cowgirl Classic

Kati Greear shot back to back 74's in the final two round of the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic to finish in 26th with a total score of 225. Greear totaled 32 pars and seven birdies in 54 holes. Montana State finished 15th, totalling 928 after the three rounds of play. The 'Cats best round came on Monday morning, shooting 303 at Ak-Chin Southern Dune Golf Course.
"We definitely didn't finish where I was expecting us to," head coach Brittany Basye said. "Kati showed consistency and that's what I'm looking for with this team. We can't afford to get down so far, because we can only make so many birdies. We are hurting ourselves with doubles and triples. We have to stop if we want to have a strong showing at our own tournament next week, followed by conference the week after that."
Lauren Hausauer shot even par in the opening round, then shot 78-82 in the final 36 holes to place 52nd. Finishing in 77th, Haylee Folkvord shot 77-79-81 for a three round total of 237. Tait placed 83rd, scoring 239 (77-79-83) and Janelle Reali finished in 87th with a three round total of 240 (83-77-80).
"I see some really good things from these ladies, but out shot selection and execution needs to get better. We have a couple days to catch up on school and then it's back to Arizona for a couple hard days of practice to hopefully be in contention for our own tournament."
Montana State will hosts the 2016 Bobcat Spring Invitational in Goodyear, Arizona on Monday and Tuesday, April 11 and 12.
