Folkvord Shoots One Over in Final Round, Leads Bobcats in Arizona

Haylee Folkvord placed 13th overall at the Bobcat Spring Invitational in Goodyear, Ariz., after shooting 77-78-73 in 54 holes at the Golf Course of Estrella. Folkvord led MSU in placing eighth out of the field of 17 teams with a team total of totaled 929 (311-310-308).
"Haylee had a good tournament and played consistent all three days for us," head coach Brittany Basye said. "We are still looking for that fourth player who will help our team average. I am going to take a hard look at each players stats and see who will be the best fit for us next week at conference. I see some players have a great couple of days then slipping in the third. We need all three days to be great and it's a team effort."
Folkvord totalled 36 pars in the three rounds and posted a team low 73 in the third round. Freshman Natassja Meredith brought in the team's second lowest score, totally 238, with a tourament low in round two of 76. Meredith placed 45th overall. Jaylee Tait finished in 48th place, highlighted by a two-over par round of 74 on day two. Shooting back-to-back 77's on day one, Kati Greear ended the tournemant in 52nd, with a total of 240. Lauren Hausauer tied with Greear in 52nd after shooting 76 on the final day.

Montana State will head to Boulder City, Nev., on Monday, April 18th for the Big Sky Conference Championships at Boulder Creek Golf Course.
