Montana State Finishes 10th at Sacramento State

Montana State women's golf shot 313 (+25) in the final round of competition to place tenth in the Sacramento State Invitational. The 'Cats finished the three round tournament with a total score of 939 (316-310-313). Kati Greear was at the front of MSU throughout the tournament, placing tied-13th at 13 over par. Greear shot 75-78-76 for a 229 total.
"As a team we didn't play like we can," head coach Brittany Basye said. "We need everyone to contribute each round and that wasn't the case this week. The positives were Kati tying for 15th and shooting in the 70's all three rounds and Haylee shooting in the 70's twice. Jaylee and Janelle also shot one round in the 70's, so I did see some good things this week. We need more consistency from each player and in order to compete with the top team in our conference."
Haylee Folkvord continues to play in the second spot, placing 33rd with a 235 total. Folkvord shot in the 70's in both rounds on day one, firing a 79 and 75. The senior finished off the final round with an 80 to finish 19 over par. Janelle Reali tied for 51st, shooting 80-75-86 (241) and Jaylee Tait shot 26 over with a score of 242 (82-85-75). Natassja Meredith placed 67th with a score of 247 (84-81-82).
"I'm hoping we can have a good week and a half of focused practice to be ready to compete in Wyoming's tournament on April 4th and 5th. We will continue to work on our short games, keeping playing and hitting shots. That fourth score is going to be very important the next few weeks with only two tournaments left before conference. I hope the weather holds for us in Bozeman so we can play outside."
The Bobcats will compete in the Wyoming Invitational on April 4th and 5th, before hosting their own tournament on April 11th and 12th in Goodyear, Ariz.
