Day 1 Results
Montana State women's golf tallied four scores in the 70's to bring in a first round total of 308 at the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational in St. George, Utah. The 'Cats sit in fourth after 18 holes of play with Kati Greear leading the way in ninth place.
?"I saw some good golf today, much more consistent," head coach Brittany Basye said. "We just need to keep working on our course management and commitment on each shot. I'm excited to see what this group can accomplish tomorrow. We need to keep pushing forward and work hard to do the best we can on each shot."
?Greear birdied four holes to shoot two over par, a first round total of 74. The senior is currently tied for ninth place in a field of 79 golfers. Haylee Folkvord fired 11 pars, sitting in 21st with a score of 77. Jaylee Tait was just one stroke behind Folkvord, shooting a 78 and tied for 28th. At six over par, Natassja Meredith is in 32nd place, shooting a 79 with three birdies. Janelle Reali is in 71st with an 85. Lauren Hausauer played as an individual, shooting seven over par, 79, ranking 32nd.
?Hallie Getz of South Dakota State leads the field after shooting four under with a score of 68. Only two other golfers shot under par at Sunbrook Golf Course on Thursday afternoon. South Dakota State leads by nine stokes with a team score of 287.
?The second and final round of the tournament will begin tomorrow morning with a shot gun start at 8:30 a.m. The 'Cats are paired with Xavier and Utah Valley.
