Bobcat Women’s Tennis Adds Two for 2016-17 Season

First-year women’s tennis head coach Jon Reeves has announced the addition of two high school standouts to the Montana State program for the 2016-17 season. Chloe Goyette, a 5-9 freshman from Yakima, Washington, and Sierra Winch, a 5-4 freshman from Bend, Oregon, comprise Reeves’ first recruiting class at MSU.

Chloe Goyette, a 5-9 freshman from Yakima, Washington, and Sierra Winch, a 5-4 freshman from Bend, Oregon, comprise Reeves' first recruiting class at MSU.
Goyette comes to the Bobcats highly decorated and is listed among the top five in the USTA/Pacific Northwest rankings. In addition, she earned a ranking of 152 nationally on TennisRecruiting.net.
As a prepster at West Valley High School, Goyette is a two-time Washington state champion. She also led the Rams to a Washington 2A state team title, as well. Goyette went undefeated last season recording a 26-0 ledger. A two-year letterwinner and an all-league selection, she is a President's List honoree.
"Chloe could possibly be the highest ranked player to come to Montana State," Reeves said. "She is the total package. Chloe is a good ball striker and is super competitive. She figures out ways to win and she can win in a variety of ways. We feel she has a tremendous upside and we can't wait to get her on campus next fall."
She is the daughter of Kathleen and Reid Goyette.
Winch is a four-year letterwinner at Bend Senior High School, where she notched a 27-3 overall mark last spring. A two-star recruit, played on a top 20 USTA Junior World Team Tennis squad. A two-time district champion, Winch won an Oregon state doubles title and served as team captain of the Lava Bears.
Off the court, she is a National Honor Society member.
"Sierra is a rock solid player," Reeves said. "A true baseliner, she can run down a lot of balls. She will most likely redshirt and get a good year to develop. Sierra has the ability to put in the work and she'll bring something to the team. She is a very smart and driven individual."
She is the daughter of Kelly and Brad Winch.
