Montana State track and field will have one last opportunity to qualify for the Big Sky Conference Championships this Friday in its Last Chance Qualifier. Montana and Carroll will make a final regular season trip to Bozeman, in addition to a handful of athletes from College of Idaho and Montana-Western.

Montana State has totaled 20 athletes who have hit the conference qualifying mark, but the majority of both team's marks rank among the top 16 in the conference.

After an outstanding performance last Friday evening, Kaylee Schmitz leads the conference in the 800 and is only .05 second shy of the Montana State record. Schmitz and Alyssa Snyder have yet to hit the mark in the mile, but with times of 4:55.27 and 4:54.33, they rank in the top seven in the conference. Snyder is also sitting in ninth place in the 3000, with a season-best 9:51.08.

Jessica Chrisp has the fifth fastest 60 hurdle time of 8.83 and Danielle Rider's 8.98 ranks 11th. Chrisp was bumped out of the top spot in the Pentathlon, after Montana's Erika McLeod scored 5,705 points in Bozeman last week. Rider remains in third in the pentathlon and jumped 18-04.5 last week to qualify in the long jump.

Casey Teska continues to rank at the top of the Big Sky in the pole vault, with a clearance of 13-01.5. With a jump of 11-11.75, Carter Theade has also cleared the qualifying mark.

Kyle Douglass, the lone Bobcat to earn athlete of the week honors this season, leads the field of shot put throwers, marking a distance of 57-09.5. Zach Sharp and Calvin Root rank among the top of the weight throwers, sitting in third (59-10.25) and fourth place (59-9.75).

Mitchell Horning remains in top ten of the 200, with the sixth best mark og 21.88 and is tied for twelfth in 60 (6.97).

Hartnell College transfer Diego Leon has the fourth best 3000 time in the Big Sky, clocking a time of 807.93 several weeks ago. Matthew Gotta is not far behind him, ranking sixth overall (8:20.68).
