Montana State’s Tait Named Big Sky Women’s Golfer of the Week

Tait honored by conference for her performance at the SCU Colby Invitational
OGDEN, Utah – Montana State junior Jaylee Tait was named the Big Sky Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for her performance at the SCU Colby Invitational, announced by the league Wednesday.
The Littleton, Colo., native shot a 10-over-par 226 to lead the Bobcats over the two-day tournament in San Jose, Calif. Her 1-over 73 in the first round was the best score for an MSU golfer at the Invitational and placed her among the top three at the time. Tait sat in fifth following the second round and eventually earned a fourth-place showing, falling shy of individual medalist honors by just three strokes.
Tait currently has MSU's best scoring average (75.08) through the first four meets of the 2016-17 season. She's been the top finisher for the Bobcats in their previous two events and has placed in the top 10 of the individual standings in each.
Tait finished tied for third at last season's Big Sky Conference Championship – the best finish by a Bobcat in the previous four seasons – to earn herself all-tournament honors.
The Bobcats return to action in the spring when MSU travels to Sedona, Ariz., for the Red Rocks Invitational on March 3, 2017.
