MSU Golfers Fire Two Sub-300 Rounds in Washington

ROUND 2 RESULTS
Montana State women's golf fired back-to-back rounds under 300 to finish the first day of the Cougar Cup in sixth place. The Bobcats recorded a 299 followed by a 298 for a two-round total of 597.
Head coach Brittany Basye is pleased with the teams play, but expects another consistant round tomorrow. "I'm proud of these ladies; each one of them. This is a tough course to walk and play 36 holes in one day, but they gave it their all and stayed focused. Tomorrow is a big day. We need to stick to our plan and stay focused for 18 holes."
Jaylee Tait led MSU for the second week in a row, recording back-to-back 73's (146) to come in tied at eighth. Janelle Reali (73-77) and Natassja Meredith (77-73) shot matching 150's (tied 21st), while Kati Greear is tied for 27th with a two-round total of 151 (76-75). Clare Dittemore sits tied for 53rd, after shooting an 82 and a 77. Playing individuals, Haylee Folkvord is in 11th place (74-73/147) and Lauren Hausauer tied for 61st (82-78/160).
Host school Washington State set the pace for the day, leading the field by five strokes with a total of 581. Cal State Fullerton's Martina Edberg's 65 is both the Cougar Cup and Palouse Ridge women's collegiate course records.
"This is a tough field. The scores today were really good. We need to be on our game tomorrow."
Play resumes tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. MST.
