Spokane Sprinter Joins Bobcats

Montana State track and field add one more athlete for the 2015-16 season, head coach Dale Kennedy announced. Sam Bloom, a mid-distance runner from Spokane, WA will join the Bobcats in the fall and look to make an immediate impact on the team.
"Sam is a very diverse runner," Kennedy said. "He has great 200 times, but he can also produce a great result in the 800. He's going to help up our anywhere from sprints to the relay teams to mid-distance. I'm excited to get him on the team and see what he can do for us."
Bloom is a product of Joel E Ferris High School, where he lettered in track four years, football twice and once in cross country. He recorded a 200-meter time of 22.52, a 400-meter mark of 49.99 and an 800-meter time of 1:54.76.
With a cumulative GPA of 3.59, Bloom was the team captain as a junior and senior, has earned all-league honors twice and was named the District 8 Track Athlete of the Meet. Bloom will join the 'Cats in the fall, with the intentions to major in engineering.
