Montana State Golfers Finish Strong at Southern Utah

Janelle Reali leads the way for MSU
Janelle Reali fired a closing round 78 and each of the other four Bobcats improved their first-round scores as Montana State finished tied for ninth at the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational in St. George, Utah, on Friday.
Reali, a sophomore from Livermore, Calif., paced the squad by finishing in a 14th-place tie. Her 78 followed a first round 76. Junior Haylee Folkvord (Three Forks) posted MSU's best second round with a 77, finishing tied for 35th with a two-round 159. Freshman Jaylee Tait (Littleton, Colo.) shot 78 on Friday, junior Kati Greear (Moscow, Idaho) shot a 79, and junior Lauren Hausauer (Bozeman) fired an 81.
Bobcat coach Brittany Basye lauded her team's performance Friday. "We played better today as a team," she said. "We made some birdies, and four rounds in the 70s is good. We need to keep working hard and not get ourselves down too much to where it's hard to come back."
Basye said that coming off a strong performance on Friday, the Bobcats still have much work ahead. "We need to continue to work on our short game as we prepare for our own invitational in a couple of weeks."
Montana State's next outing is the Bobcat Spring Invitational on March 30-31 in Goodyear, Ariz.
