Bobcat Women Drop Big Sky Opener

“We’re facing a little adversity as we wait for two players to become eligible after transferring in the fall, so we are a little under-manned,” MSU Head Coach Denise Albrecht said. “However, the kids that are in the line-up right now are doing a super job and are competing for every ball and that’s the tone we want to carry throughout the season.”
The Montana State women's tennis team dropped a pair of matches in Oregon over the weekend. The Bobcats suffered a 7-0 setback to the University of Portland, before dropping its Big Sky Conference opener 5-2 to Portland State.
Montana State jumped out to the first point of the match, winning two-of-three doubles contests, including a 6-4 decision at the top spot where Laura Middel and Jessica Brycki combined to defeat Dane Vorster and Siena Peri.
The Vikings came back swinging in singles matches, taking five out of six to claim the victory. MSU's lone singles win came at No. 5, where Great Falls product Molly Crum defeated Kelsey Frey 6-2, 6-4.
