OGDEN, Utah - Four Bobcats competed at the Big Sky Individual Championships hosted by Weber State, wrapping up play on Saturday.Â
"I'm proud of our fight throughout this tournament," head coach Hailey Barrett said. "It was a great experience for our team. Terezie had a great win yesterday and played a gritty match today. Lola had a tough battle in singles, and Angel and Naomi fought hard against a solid doubles team. We learned a lot and will build from this. Regionals are coming up next, and we will be ready."Â
Terezie Stverakova was the lone competitor for MSU on Saturday after picking up a win over Weber State's Wencong Song in the singles on Friday. Stverakova ultimately fell to Naomi Schraeder of Idaho in Saturday's quarterfinal round. On Friday, Lola Bean forced Emmy Richards from Idaho State into a three-set battle, but was unable to come up with a win.Â
In the doubles draw, senior Angel Bean and freshman Naomi Jin teamed up for their second tournament of the season, but came up short of a win against Portland State's doubles team.Â
The Bobcats return to the tennis court on Oct. 13 for the first day of the ITA Mountain Regionals in Provo, Utah.Â
