MSU introduces big cast of newcomers
Brian Fish knows that the lights will shine a little brighter on Tuesday night.

"It's the first time in front of a crowd with the (game) lights turned on," Fish said of his team's exhibition game against Northwest Indian at 7:05 pm. "Freshman or returner, it will seem like a Super Bowl crowd to the guys."

Nine Bobcats make their MSU debuts on Tuesday, but a pair of key returners draw much of the focus. Guard Marcus Colbert earned Big Sky Reserve of the Year honors in 2015. He triggers the MSU attack as a multi-skilled guard. He averaged 13.1 points a season ago, and led the Cats in assists. Forward Danny Robison brings his 9.2 points and 4.6 boards from a season ago to the MSU frontcourt.

Sophomore forward Zach Green, lauded for his off-season work, is also set as a starter. Sharpshooting guard Stephan Holm also returns. Beyond that, Fish expects to rely on newcomers. Freshmen Tyler Hall, a slick-shooting guard, and forward Sam Neumann bring versatility to the lineup. Transfer guard Nahjee Matlock adds a spark at the point, while forward Tyson Kanseyo is a physical force inside and Sarp Gobeloglu adds three-point punch.

Regardless of what happens in terms of production, Fish knows the experience will be beneficial. "I just want us to line up and play," he said, "to get used to the lights. I want them to get used to the crowds. We're working to become more consistent, and that will continue, but to get out there for the first time is always a good learning experience."

After Tuesday's exhibition, the Bobcats open the regular season on November 13 at Hawaii.
