Bobcats Shoot 298 in First Round at Ron Moore Intercollegiate

ROUND 1 TEAM RESULTS
Montana State's women's golf team was led by senior Kati Greear and freshman Natassja Meredith, shooting matching 74's at the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate. The duo is tied for 37th. The team tallied a total of 298, sitting in 13th place after day one.
"I'm proud of them for keeping steady and sticking to their game plans," head coach Brittany Basye said. "Tomorrow we have to go out and keep doing what we're doing. We had many positive things, but I think if we stay patient more birdies will start to fall."
Haylee Folkvord hit four birdies on the front nine and one on the back, totaling a 75 for the first round (tied-52nd). Meredith and Greear were both one over on both sides and Janelle Reali finished with a 75. Jaylee Tait shot five over on the front, but charged on the back to end the day at 6 over (78).
San Francisco and host school Denver are tied for first at six under (282). Big Sky conference members Northern Colorado is tied for seventh (293) and North Dakota is currently sitting in 17th (305).
San Francisco's Ayaka Suzuki leads the field, shooting six under at 65, while 18 others shot under par.
Round two will begin tomorrow morning with tee times starting at 8:30 a.m. Montana State is paired with South Florida and Wyoming, with the lead group teeing off at 9:15 a.m.
