Reali Shoots Back-to-Back 75's, Places 6th at Cal Poly Invite

Janelle Reali fired back-to-back 75's at the Lady Mustang Intercollegiate to finish the two-round tournament in sixth place. Reali ended day one tied for twelfth, but after another consistent round the junior made her way into the top 10.
Montana State ended the 36-holes with a team total of 618 (308-310) in sixth place.
"That wasn't exactly how we wanted to finish out the fall, but Janelle played consistent," head coach Brittany Basye said. "Overall our fall went well and we have improved as a team. Each player that traveled this fall contributed in one way or another, so that is a positive to take away. We need to evaluate our fall and dig through our stats so we can begin to think about how to do better and improve this spring."
Clare Dittemore held the lead after the first round, shooting 71 and remained in top 20 at the conclusion of the tournament. Dittemore played the final round at 12 over par (84) for a two day total of 155. Haylee Folkvord cut five strokes off of her first round score, tallying a 77 on the final day (82-77/159). Folkvord placed 36th along side Jaylee Tait who shot 80-79 over the two days.
Kati Greear also had a five shot improvement, shooting an 84 followed by a 79.
UC-Riverside won the tournament at 18 over par, with Hannah Faccini taking first place, shooting three under (71-70/141). Weber State finished ten strokes (628) behind MSU and Montana just after them with 634 strokes.
"I'm sure the players are ready for a break to focus on school and volunteering. I'm proud of this team for improving, but we need to keep moving in the right direction so we don't settle for being average. We are all better than that. We have nine players that should be healthy and ready to play this spring."
The Lady Mustang Intercollegiate concluded the fall season for the Bobcats. Montana State will resume the remainder of the season on February 22-24 at the Grand Canyon University Spring Women's Invitational in Phoenix, Arizona.
