Bobcats Battle Before Falling at #56 Utah in Men's Tennis

Brandes, James capture singles wins
Niklas Brandes and Harry James won singles matches and the Bobcats were close in doubles point, but No. 56 Utah managed a 5-2 win over Montana State in men's tennis Saturday at Salt Lake City, UT.
Brandes battled for his victory, earning a 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 11-9 win at No. 2 singles. James's win was a straight set 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) victory. MSU's four singles losses all came in straight sets.
The Bobcats also competed strongly for the doubles point. James and Kellen Bates won a 6-4 decision over Slim Hamza and Freddie McGeehan, 6-4. Brandes and Javier Martin-Morillas dropped a 7-5 decision at No. 1 singles.
The Cats fell to 0-2 with the loss, and return to action Saturday at Air Force.
