Redhawks Swoop past Bobcat Netters

“It was a good opener,” MSU Head Coach Denise Albrecht said. “That first match is always tough, but I thought we played hard and Jessica and Liana really did a nice job in their singles matches.”
The Montana State women's tennis team opened its 2015 season with a 5-2 setback at the hands of Seattle U, Saturday afternoon.
The Redhawks won a hard-fought 7-6(3) decision at No. 2 doubles to take the opening point and then captured four singles matches for the victory.
Montana State received a 7-5 win at No. 1 doubles from its top tandem of Laura Middel and Angelina Phillipova. Also posting victories for MSU were Jessica Brycki at No. 2 with a 7-6, 6-2 decision over Madison Maloney, while Kalispell product Liana Bates recorded a 6-4, 6-1 win over Kailyn Skjonsby at No. 5 singles.
