Janelle Reali leads the way, finishes 10th
Janelle Reali fired a third-round 75 to finish tied for 10th at the WSU Cougar Cup in Pullman, Wash., on Tuesday.
The sophomore from Livermore, Calif., played Tuesday's closing round two strokes better than average, helping the Bobcats fend off league rival Eastern Washington for eighth place out of nine. She was MSU's low scorer over 54 holes.
Kati Greear shot a 77 on Tuesday to finish with a three-round total of 234, good for a 37th place tie, while Haylee Folkvord's 82 helped her finish one stroke behind Greear, tied for 43rd. Jaylee Tait shot an 80, finishing tied for 48th with a 237, while Lauren Hausauer's 79 gave her a three-round total of 237, tied for 50th.
"I saw some good things this week," said MSU coach Brittany Basye. "We have a quick turnaround before we fly to California Thursday. We'll have to regroup and get our classwork settled and work on a game plan for the Classic Club. I want us to play well for all three rounds there."
MSU plays in the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate, Sept. 27-28 in Palm Desert, Calif.
