MSU hosts meet in Arizona next spring
Montana State women's golf carries an experienced squad into the 2014-15 season, and 11th-year head coach Brittany Basye has constructed a schedule that offers her veteran team a challenge.
Led by returning All-Big Sky Honorable Mention selection Kati Greear, the Bobcats visit four western states in the fall in preparation for a Southwest-flavored spring season that features the Bobcat Spring Invitational in Goodyear, Ariz., and culminates in the Big Sky Championships in Chandler, Ariz. Basye said the schedule gives her team a taste of national competition while exposing it to the best players in the West and, specifically, the Big Sky prior to the conference meet.
"I'm very excited that we'll be hosting a tournament in Arizona again next spring," Basye said. "That's always fun. This schedule is challenging, but it will prepare us well for the conference championships."
MSU's 2014-15 schedule begins with four fall events, beginning Sept. 8-9 in Springville, Utah. The spring schedule, featuring six tournaments, opens Feb. 23 at the Grand Canyon Invitational. MSU's Bobcat Spring Invitational is March 30 in Goodyear, Ariz., and the conference tournament is April 19-21 at Ocotillo Golf Course in Chandler, Ariz.
