Freshman Golfer Qualifies for U.S. Women's Amateur Championship

Four Bobcats compete in Qualifier
Jaylee Tait, who will kick off her collegiate career in barely a month got things moving a little early when she qualified for the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship back on July 10. Tait, from Littleton, Colorado, advances to the National Championship following a score of 72 (+2) at Pinehurst Country Club in Denver, where she placed third and is one of four qualifiers.
Tait was joined by three other teammates who also competed but failed to advance. Haylee Folkvord carded 79, while former Big Sky Champion Paige Crawford finished with 80. Pari Keller, another newcomer to Montana State this fall played at Dayton, Ohio's Walnut Grove Country Club and finished with a score of 84.
"This is great news not just for Jaylee but for Montana State Women's Golf," said head coach Brittany Basye. "I believe this is the first time we've had a student-athlete reach this point, especially at this early in her career. More importantly, this is great experience for both Jaylee and Pari as they get ready to complete at the collegiate level and will provide an opportunity for Haylee to keep playing, too."
