Greear Earns First Big Sky Conference Honors

Successful spring yields recognition for sophomore golfer
Golfers from Big Sky Conference champion Portland State captured Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors on Wednesday, April 30, as the All-Conference team and individual award winners were announced. For the first time, the coaches selected the All-Conference team by a vote. From 1993-2004, the top 10 finishers at the conference tournament were selected to the All-Conference Team. From 2005-13, rankings provided by Golf Week or Golfstat were used to determine the squad.
Kati Greear earned a spot on the Honorable Mention All-Big Sky team following a fourth place finish at the Big Sky Tournament on April 22. In addition to her place on the All-Big Sky teams, she garnered All-Tournament honors at Ocotillo Golf Club following her best finish of the 2013-14 season. Prior to the Big Sky Championship, Greear had the third-lowest round average on the team with 79.77. At Ocotillo, the Moscow, Idaho native finished with 225 (74-76-75), including seven birdies over three rounds.
This marks the second consecutive year a Bobcat has made the All-Big Sky Conference Team. Paige Crawford, by virtue of earning medalist honors, made the team in 2013.
