Bobcats Rout North Dakota in Men's Tennis

Top of MSU lineup leads the way to convincing conference win
Markus Schleuter cruised to a straight sets win at No. 2 singles and teamed with Diego Campos for a No. 2 doubles win, boosting Montana State to an easy 6-1 win over North Dakota in Big Sky Conference men's tennis action on Saturday.
MSU's win Saturday brings the Bobcats to the point where a win Sunday would clinch a spot in the six-team Big Sky Championship Tournament, and sets up a crucial showdown Sunday at 1 pm against Northern Colorado. The Bears, led by former MSU coach Mike Phillips, remain in pursuit of a spot in the league tournament, as well.
But Saturday, the focus was on North Dakota, and the Cats made easy work of UND. After winning the singles points with a pair of wins (Niklas Brandes and Harry James also earned a victory at No. 1), the Bobcats won five of the six singles matches. The only loss came at No. 5, where Kenny Dodd moved up to replace injured Diego Campos. Freshman Aaron Farmer earned a hard-fought 6-3, 3-6, 10-6 win at No. 6. Brandes, Schleuter, Javier Martin Morillas and James each earned straight-sets wins.
