Paige Crawford in sixth place headed into final round at Wigwam

Montana State Women's Golf came out with one of their best days of competition at the Grand Canyon Invitational at Wigwam Golf Course on Monday. The Bobcats currently sit in a tie for sixth place with Big Sky Conference member Southern Utah after two rounds with a combined score of 636 (319-317) in Litchfield Park, Ariz.
In a field of 15 teams, Montana State proved to be a competitor in the opening 36 holes, to kick off the spring season. The current team leader is another Big Sky team as Northern Arizona carded a 607 (298-305). Santa Clara's Annie Freman is the individual leader with 147 (73-74).
Paige Crawford picked up where she left off as the team's consistent leader. The senior recorded a score of 151 (77-74). Freshman Janelle Reali led MSU after the opening 18 with a single round score of 74. After two, she sits in 14th with 154.
Kati Greear in MSU's third spot in a tie for 30th (160), followed by Lauren Hausauer in 57th (171). Haylee Folkvord rounds out the MSU scorers in 60th, carding a 172 (87-85).
Senior Pamela Calderon Rojas, competing unattached is in 53th (168). Bergen Buck is in 77th, also competiting as an individual, with 181.
"We are holding out own out there," said head coach Brittany Basye. "We're just going to keep taking it one shot at a time and keep our focus. I saw some good things out there today and we'll be ready tomorrow. Conditions are perfect for some good scores."
The final round of 18 begins Tuesday, at 8:15 a.m.
