Bobcat Comeback Falls Short in Loss at Cal State Northridge

MSU digs deep hole, can't quite climb out
The hole was just too deep.
Montana State fell behind Cal State Northridge by 18 points in the first half, and in spite of pulling within five points late in the game dropped a 72-65 decision in CSUN's Matadome on Wednesday.
After Northridge scored the game's first four points, Stephan Holm drained three free throws. Those were the last points the Cats would score for nearly 12 minutes. MSU missed its first 11 shots of the game, and by the time the Bobcats scored the team trailed 19-3.
Montana State trailed 35-21 at halftime, but outscored the Matadors 44-37 after the intermission. That marked the first time this season the team has outscored an opponent in a half. The Bobcats finished 22-for-64 from the field, hitting 11 three-pointers. Stephan Holm scored 20 to lead the Bobcats, who shot 20-for-25 from the line.
The loss drops MSU to 0-3 on the season. CSUN is now 1-2. The Cats play at Buffalo on Friday night.
