Bobcat Golfers Land Talented Northwest-Area Standouts

Dittemore, Navarre add experience, talent to Bobcat program
Montana State added a pair of talented high school golfers Wednesday, and Bobcat coach Brittany Basye said she expects Clare Dittemore and Lilly Navarre could have an immediate and positive impact on her program when they arrive in the fall of 2015.
"I am excited to have these two experienced players on our team," Basye said of the two players she signed to National Letters-of-Intent. "I expect both to contribute to the travelling team immediately next fall."
Dittemore joins the Bobcat program from Roseburg, Ore., High School, where she enters her senior season as a three-time team MVP and a three-year competitor in the Class 6A State Championship Tournament. A National Honor Society member, she earned the Academic Feather of Achievement and school honor roll each of her first three seasons at Roseburg. She has already claimed seven tourney titles, including two events this fall.
"Clare is going to be a great addition to our Bobcat program," Basye said. "Along with tournament experience throughout the year she brings academic success as a National Honor Society member and honor roll selection each year. Clare plays and competes year-round in quality tournaments, and will make a direct impact for us on the golf course and in the classroom."
A two-time top 15 finisher at the state meet for Puyallup, Wash., Bellarmine Prep, Navarre has faced impressive competition with tremendous results. She shot a 69 in 2013 at the Spanaway (Wash.) Golf Club, and has competed at the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Ryan Moore Tournament the past two seasons at the Oakbrook Golf Course in Lakewood, Wash., and also competed at District and Qualifier events at the High Cedars, Classic, and Allenmoore golf courses in Washington. Navarre earned Bellarmine Prep's Coach's Award as a junior, Most Improved as a sophomore, and Most Determined as a freshman, whil contributing many hours of service to her community.
"Lilly brings a lot of experience to our program, playing in numerous quality tournaments throughout the year and has been successful at a high level," Basye said. "She has also contributed to her high school team that has won five state titles in a row. There is no doubt in my mind that the team will benefit greatly from Lilly's skill and experience."
Basye indicated that Dittemore and Navarre are the only two student-athletes she plans to sign during the November signing period.
