Crawford leads MSU at Big Sky Championship
The Montana State women's golf team was led by Paige Crawford during the first round of the 2013 Big Sky Golf Championship and sit in a tie for eighth place after the first round. (Round One Results)
Crawford shot a 73 to finish the day in a tie for 5th place. The Bobcats team score of 322 places MSU in a tie with Montana for the eighth spot.
After the first 18 holes, Portland State holds team lead after carding a first round score of 290. Northern Arizona is nine shots back as Sacramento State is in third with 300. Britney Yada of Portland State has the individual lead after a two-under par 70 performance. Teammates A Ram Choi and Riley Leming sit tied for second after carding 71 first round scores.
For the Bobcats, Molly Dorans shot a first round score of 80 to put her in a tie for 34th. Not far behind is Kati Greear in 37th with a score of 82. Kelly O'Brien carded an 87 on the day, to place her in a tie for 49th with Pamela Calderon Rojas in 51st with a round one score of 88.
“Paige tied for fifth played great and with confidence. We all need to play with confidence and no fear tomorrow. We're going to need all five to be clicking together,” said head coach Brittany Basye.
