Wildcats use hot shooting to earn win in Ogden
Weber State became the third straight Montana State opponent to shoot better than 50% and extended the Bobcats' losing streak to four games Saturday with a 69-61 win in Ogden on Saturday.
Davion Berry scored 21 points on seven-for-seven shooting to lead the Wildcats, who won their sixth straight game. Weber State shot 64% from the field, extending to seven consecutive halves MSU's string of allowing 55% shooting or better.
Marcus Colbert scored a career-high 19 points to lead the Bobcats, shooting 7-for-12 from the field and 5-for-7 from three-point range. Christian Moon added 15 points, while Paul Egwuonwu scored 12.
The Bobcats never led in Saturday's game, but MSU managed to make the game interesting. The Bobcats trailed by only three with 17 minutes to play, but Weber State responded with a 15-2 run. In spite of trailing by 13 in the game's final minutes the Cats managed to make the game interesting. After Frank Otis' layup at 3:48 gave Weber State a 63-50 lead, an Antonio Biglow layup and Christian Moon's three pointer cut the margin to eight. A Calen Coleman layup with eight seconds left cut it back to that margin.
Weber State improved to 19-5 overall, 14-2 in the Big Sky, with the win. MSU is now 10-14 overall, 7-9 in the league. The Bobcats host South Dakota in a Bracketbuster game next Sunday at 1 pm.
