Bobcat Golf Finishes in Sixth at Lumberjack

Greear, O’Brien top finishers for MSU
On the third and final day of The Lumberjack at Ocotillo Golf Course, the Montana State women's golf team again moved up one spot.(Final Results)
Improving each day, the Bobcats finished in sixth place with a team score of 972 (338-318-316). McNeese State's score of 914 (300-311-303) was plenty good to be the overall team champion with Northern Arizona (941) taking home second place and Weber State (949) finishing in third.
Kelsey Chugg on Weber State won the tournament after a third round 70. Kelsey Haynie and Lina Lagergren both of McNeese State rounded out the top three for the individual competition.
Kati Greear shot a third round 79 to finish with 239 (82-78-79). Kelly O'Brien and Paige Crawford each carded the best third round for the Bobcats with a 78. O'Brien's total score of 239 (85-76-78) placed her in a tie for 17th with Greear. Crawford finished in a tie for 20th as her final round 78 finished her with a total of 244 (86-80-78).
Molly Dorans finished the tournament in a tie for 38th with Pamela Calderon Rojas, who shot an 81 on the final day with a total score of 252 (87-84-81). Dorans carded an 83 to finish with 252 (85-84-83) as well.
“We had a little more consistency today and saw more shots that we are capable of. Now we have two more weeks of practice to get ready to get back outside to compete,” said head coach Brittany Basye.
The Bobcats will hit the links next on March 2-3 for the Red Rocks Invitational at the Oak Creek Country Club in Sedona, Ariz.
