Golf Moves Up One Spot

O’Brien’s 76 led MSU on day two
At the second day of The Lumberjack at Ocotillo Golf Course, the Montana State women's golf team jumped one spot with a second round score of 318. (Day Two Results)
After every Bobcat golfer had improved scores from the first day, MSU is now in seventh place with a score of 656 (338-318) with the final round of the tournament left to play on Wednesday.
Kelly O'Brien shot a second round 76 on Tuesday to lead the Bobcats. Her combined score after the first two rounds is 161 (85-76). Kati Greear is still the leader for MSU with a combined score of 160 (82-78) after a 78 round two score. Greear moved up three spots to a tie for 15th and O'Brien moved from 31st to a tie for 18th.
Paige Crawford improved nine spots with a second day score of 80. She sits in a tie for 26th with 166 (86-80). Molly Dorans shot an 84, to put her combined score at 169 (85-84) for a tie in 41st. Also carding an 84 was Pamela Calderon Rojas as she sits in a tie for 43rd with 171 (87-84).
"The team played better as a whole. The consistency will come but today we saw great shots and definitely more of what I know they can do," added head coach Brittany Basye.
McNeese State leads the team competition with a score of 611(300-311) which is good for a 20 shot lead over Northern Arizona after the second round. Northern Arizona has a team score of 631 (316-315) as Weber State sits in third with a score of 640 (327-313).
Individually, Kelsey Haynie of McNeese State is in the lead with a score of 150 (73-77) with Sadie Palmer of Southern Utah close behind with 151 (77-74).
Wednesday's shotgun start for the final round begins at 7:30 a.m.
