For the first time in Tricia Binford’s nine years at Montana State the Bobcat women’s basketball team will open up its season in Worthington Arena. MSU will host Cal State Northridge on Sunday at 1 p.m.

* For the first time in Tricia Binford's nine years at Montana State the Bobcat women's basketball team will open up its season in Worthington Arena.
* Under the direction of Tricia Binford, the Bobcat women's basketball team is 5-4 in season openers, including winning the last two against Colorado State (2012-13) and Portland (2011-12).
* Last winter, the Bobcats posted a 17-13 overall mark and an 11-9 Big Sky Conference slate. The 2012-13 season marked MSU's fifth straight winning campaign and its seventh consecutive Big Sky Tournament appearance.
* Montana State returns three starters in Emily Allen, Ashley Brumwell and Kalli Durham from last year's squad. Durham is the only Bobcat to return who averaged double-digits last winter. The Miles City native averaged 12 points per game, while Brumwell chipped in 8.8 points and Allen 2.4 points per game.
*All eleven players on MSU's 2013-14 opening day roster were members of the Bobcat women's basketball program last season. Montana State's only freshman is redshirt Margreet Barhoum.
* Entering her ninth season with the Bobcats, Tricia Binford is Montana State's all-time winningest coach with 120 career victories.
* Montana State holds a 6-4 edge over its former Big Sky Conference rival Cal State Northridge, including winning the last two meetings. The last contest between the two clubs was a 63-46 Bobcat victory on Feb. 25, 2001.
* The Bobcats played two exhibitions games prior to Sunday's season-opener, the last an 81-50 victory over Montana Western on Nov. 2. Three MSU players reached double-figure scoring, including Kalli Durham 21, Ausha Cole 14 and Kayla DeWit 12. DeWit, a 6-1 sophomore from Whitefish, also came off the bench to haul down a team-best eight rebounds.
* In Montana State's first exhibition game - a 97-63 win over Great Falls- senior Ashley Brumwell paced the Bobcats with 23 points and ten rebounds. The Hamilton product connected on seven-of-14 from the field and was eight-of-11 from the charity stripe. Also in double-digits were Jasmine Hommes 14, Durham 14 and DeWit 12.
* In two exhibition games, MSU shot 42% from the field.
* Cal State Northridge opened its 2013-14 season at Big Sky Conference foe Sacramento State. Sacramento State converted a school-record 17 3-pointers to record a 92-73 win over the Matadors.
* Cal State Northridge was led in its game with Sacramento State by Cinnamon Lister, who notched 15 points and seven assists.
* Also in double-figures for the Matadors was Camille Mahlknecht with 13 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
* Cal State Northridge returns four starters and eight letterwinners. In addition, the Matadors welcome eight newcomers to the squad.
* The Matadors went 15-15 overall last season and 9-9 in Big West Conference action- good for sixth place. Cal State Northridge was picked to finish third in the Big West in the preseason media poll.
* Junior Ashlee Guay is a preseason All-Big West pick. Last year, the 5-7 guard averaged 13.2 points and connected on 35 treys.
