The Montana State volleyball team will host a pair of Big Sky Conference matches this weekend in Shroyer Gym. MSU will face Weber State on Friday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. The Bobcats will close out the weekend against Idaho State, Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m. PLEASE NOTE: Saturday’s match will be at 7:30 p.m. to accommodate MSU fans/staff attending both the men’s basketball game and volleyball match.

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR:
Montana State outside hitter Kennadie Clute is not only establishing herself as one of the top freshman in the Big Sky this fall, but she is also one of the best in the nation. The Bobcat rookie ranks first in the country for freshmen, averaging 4.43 kills per set, which ranks 18th overall at the NCAA Division I level. The Spokane native is first in the nation for freshmen in points per game, as well, at 4.90 per set, which is 23rd overall.
'CAT CHAT:
Montana State will look to snap its six-match losing streak against Weber State on Friday night. Ironically, it was MSU's 3-0 win over the Wildcats on Oct. 5 in Ogden that snapped a six-match losing streak. Following its win over WSU, the Bobcats rattled off a three-match winning streak...Senior libero Nicole Baker is not only getting the job done defensively (3.45 dpg), but she ranks first in the Big Sky Conference and 63rd in the nation from the service line. the Pleasanton, Calif., native is averaging .37 aces per set...Freshman Anna Sykora is fifth in the Big Sky Conference and 81st in the nation averaging 10.40 assists per contest...sophomore middle blocker Natalee Godfrey ranks 10th in the Big Sky Conference hitting .271 from the floor.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS/BENGALS:
Weber State is currently tied for ninth in the Big Sky Conference with the Bobcats at 3-11. The Wildcats are 7-21 overall. Earlier this fall, MSU handed WSU a 25-22, 28-26, 25-20 setback in Ogden. The Wildcats are led by Audrey Biggs and Rebecca Fuchs, who average 2.76 and 2.57 kills per set, respectively. Idaho State, who plays at Montana on Friday night, is 15-10 overall and 9-5 in league action.
FAB FROSH, PART I:
Kennadie Clute, a 6-1 outside hitter from Spokane, continues to be Montana State's top offensive threat, racking up a Big Sky best 460.5 points in the first 25 matches. In addition, Clute has been in double-figure kills in all 25 matches. She is ranked first in the league averaging 4.43 kills per set and her 31 kills against Northern Arizona is the top mark in the Big Sky, as well.
GOOD GODFREY:
Sophomore Natalee Godfrey has put together a solid season for the Bobcats to date hitting a team-best .271 from the field, while averaging 1.90 kills and .78 blocks per set. Last weekend, she averaged 1.43 kills per set.
FAB FROSH, PART II:
Freshman Anna Sykora continued her hot-hand. The 5-11 setter from Rapid City, SD, dished out 72 assists last weekend and is averaging 10.50 assists per set (overall), which ranks fifth overall in the Big Sky listings.
THE BUTCHER, THE BAKER, THE DIG-MAKER:
Senior libero Nicole Baker is moving up the all-time MSU digs chart. She is currently third all-time with 1,463 saves. Her current 3.54 dps is ninth best in the league, while her .37 aces give her the top spot in the Big Sky listings.
FAB FROSH, PART III:
Freshman outside hitter Loni Kreun is averaging 2.83 kills per set. Kreun is second on the team with 293.5 points. In addition, she is second on the squad, averaging 2.24 digs per contest and has totaled 28 blocks.
E-LECTRFYING:
After a slow start to the season, sophomore outside hitter Eli Svisco is finding her groove. Svisco pounded down 11 kills last weekend, including six kills against Eastern Washington. She had five kills and hit .250 vs. Portland St.
